Choosing a daily word-count goal you can keep

Take your target chapters per week and multiply by your average chapter length. Divide by the days you will actually write. If that number scares you, lower the pace instead of skipping days.

Consistency beats bursts: a 700-word day logged six times a week beats one 5,000-word weekend followed by burnout. Log every session so your weekly and monthly totals show what is realistic.
